Studio practices

Different disciplines. One material standard.

CARVED FORM is structured around four distinct studio‑based practices: scale, line, tactile form, and relief. These profiles host verified artists’ identities, working methodologies and collections as the artist roster continues to expand.

Monumental practice

Scale, void, and room presence.

For floor and pedestal works, the first decision is the room. Silhouette, weight, grain direction, and the passage of daylight are established before the surface is resolved.

Architectural practice

Line, span, and changing shadow.

Long forms are drawn through the edge of a room. This practice works with length, recession, and the way a carved span can alter a console, mantel, or threshold.

Object practice

Tactility at close range.

Small works are not reduced monumental forms. They are developed for the hand, the shelf, and the close reading of grain, edge radius, and a protected inner volume.

Relief practice

Surface, light, and approach.

Wall work is shaped for the changing conditions of approach. Carved direction, shallow depth, and daylight determine whether a relief reads from across a room or at arm’s length.
